The Highlands
on your own terms.

About 18 teams, each behind the wheel of a Toyota LandCruiser, set loose across the Icelandic Highlands. From volcano craters to river crossings that were not there yesterday.

No set route. No hand-holding. Just you, your crew, your 4x4, and an island that treats roads as a suggestion. Black sand deserts, hot springs at the end of nowhere, and a sky that catches fire if you stay awake long enough.

The details.

Odin's Cup starts and ends in Reykjavík, the Icelandic capital. From there it is up to you which volcano or wild river crossing to point at first in the Icelandic Highlands. No fixed route, only one mandatory checkpoint on Day 4 where all teams regroup for an epic salmon and Arctic trout barbecue under the stars. Weather allowing.
Not a race. Challenges include river crossings, spotting the northern lights, glacier plunges and more. The team with the most points wins eternal bragging rights and The Cup. Full challenge list only revealed at the launch event.
We provide ground tents, but it is up to you and your team to choose your epic camping spots, beside checkpoint night. Guesthouses and lodges are also available if you want a break from sleeping under the stars.
Your flights, fuel, the hotel nights for the launch and finish parties, food outside the official events and checkpoints, and your own travel and health insurance. For some Cups there are small per person extras such as an International Driving Permit or entry tickets to specific sites and national parks. Flights aside, across all our events these land somewhere between 30 and 40 euros per person per day. Math made easy.
Your normal driving licence will do, as long as it is written in the Latin alphabet and you have held it for at least a year. If it is not, you will need an International Driving Permit, which you arrange at home before you fly.
One of the safest countries on earth. The risk here is not people, it is the weather and the rivers, and both change fast. Check conditions every morning, never cross water you have not walked first, and take the road closure signs seriously.
Iceland is not cheap, but you are camping. Budget around €40 per person per day covering camping, food and fuel.
Iceland is in the Schengen area. If you can travel to Schengen without a visa you are fine, otherwise apply well ahead. Requirements vary by country of origin, so check in advance.
2 to 4 people per team. There is a €300 supplement for a team of 4.
Yes, 24 years and above. This adventure calls for a bit of life and driving experience.
